Brighton
& Hove
Brighton is one of the most exciting cities in the UK if
not Europe! Close to the capital (on the south coast of England,
approximately 80km south of London), it has excellent links
to the heart of London by train and coach (approximately 50
minutes by train), but is evidently more relaxed.It is often
referred to as London-by-Sea because of the lively vibrant
atmosphere.
The architecture is magnificent with the world famous Palace
Pier and Royal Pavilion, just some of the attractions to thousands
of visitors and students that come on a yearly basis, not
to mention the array of spacious parks, walks and beauty spots.
Brighton has a very European feel, with a cafe' culture,
beachfront bars, and a vast array of restaurants offering
everything from European to Asian cuisine, all adding to its
cosmopolitan feel.
Packed with both national and international students, Brighton
boasts two Universities and offers a huge variety of shops
with a good mix of both old and new buildings.
Arrivals
By train from London Victoria Station, the fastest service
takes 49 minutes. Regular services run to Brighton from London
King's Cross and London Bridge Stations.
You can travel by Euro star from Paris, Brussels or Lille
to London Waterloo and then on to Brighton via London Bridge.
Travelling by air our nearest airport is London Gatwick,
30 minutes away by train, car, coach or taxi. London Heathrow
Airport is 90 minutes by car, coach or taxi, whilst train
connections from Heathrow airport are via London Underground
and mainline train services.
Stanstead Airport serves a train link to Liverpool Street
or Tottenham Hale underground stations in London, from where
you can take the underground to Victoria for a mainline train
connection terminating at Brighton.
An express coach service runs between London Victoria Coach
Station to Brighton and takes about 2 hours.
A regular Jetlink coach service connects both London Heathrow
(1½ hours) and London Gatwick (45 minutes) airports
with Brighton.
